Credits Earned Elsewhere
St. Catherine University recognizes that valuable learning can take place both inside and outside the traditional college setting. In addition to transferring credits from regionally accredited colleges and universities in the U.S., St. Catherine University recognizes work from colleges and universities outside of the U.S. as well as prior learning assessments (PLA) as an important pathway for adults to turn their learning that happens outside the traditional college setting into college credit.
Consider the value of PLA for any form of prior learning, including:
- Organized/Group learning environments
- Employer training programs
- Certifications
- Military experiences
- College classroom not otherwise transferable
- Courses taken to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
- Courses taken at non-regionally accredited colleges or universities
- Individualized Learning
- On-the-Job
- Volunteer experiences
- Hobbies/Interests
See the Transfer Credits , Credit by Examination , Alternative Ways to Earn Credit and International Evaluator sections of this catalog for details about each option.
