Graduation Requirements
Associate Degree Programs
To be eligible to graduate from an associate degree program, students must fulfill the following graduation requirements:
- Completion of all program requirements within seven years of admittance to St. Catherine University
- Completion of liberal arts and sciences core requirements
- Completion of the residency requirement of 30 semester credits in residence
- Completion of all professional courses within five years of beginning the sequence
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
- Completion of a Graduation Application form

- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
Baccalaureate Degree Programs in the College for Women: Students Enrolling or Re-Enrolling Fall 2021 or Later1
Candidates for a B.A. or B.S. degree must fulfill the following graduation requirements:
- A minimum of 128 semester credits including:
- completion of the liberal arts and sciences core requirements for either the B.A. or B.S. degree, as appropriate to the major;
- acceptance into and completion of the requirements for an approved major
- Completion of the residency requirement of 48 semester credits in residence (applies to students seeking their first or second bachelor's degree)
- Completion of a minimum of 36 upper-division (3XXX or 4XXX-level) credits
- Completion of a Graduation Application form
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
Baccalaureate Degree Programs in the College for Adults: Students Enrolling or Re-Enrolling Fall 2021 or Later1
Candidates for a B.A., B.S., or B.S.N. degree must fulfill the following graduation requirements:
- A minimum of 120 semester credits including:
- completion of the liberal arts and sciences core requirements for either the B.A., B.S., or B.S.N. degree, as appropriate to the major;
- acceptance into and completion of the requirements for an approved major
- Completion of the residency requirement of 48 semester credits in residence (applied to students seeking their first or second bachelor's degree)
- Completion of a minimum of 36 upper-division (3XXX or 4XXX-level) credits
- Completion of a Graduation Application form
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
1 | Students who enrolled prior to Fall 2021 are advised to reference the requirements of the catalog applicable to their term of enrollment. |
2 | Candidates for a B.S.N. degree enrolled in the RN-BSN Degree Completion section are required to complete a minimum of 30 semester credits in residence. This requirement is reduced to 26 semester credits for RN-BSN students who have completed a previous baccalaureate degree. |
The graduation requirements will be amended for students subject to the 2022-2023 catalog (i.e., enrolling or re-enrolling during the 2022-2023 academic year). This information is provided for future reference only.

Baccalaureate Degree Requirement for Students Enrolling or Re-Enrolling at St. Catherine University Fall 2022 or Later1
Candidates for a B.A., B.S., or B.S.N.2 degree must fulfill the following graduation requirements:
- A minimum of 120 semester credits including:
- completion of the general education core LIFE curriculum3
- acceptance into and completion of the requirements for an approved major
- Completion of the residency requirement of 32 semester credits in residence (this applies to students seeking their first or second bachelor's degree)
- Completion of a minimum of 36 upper-division (3000- or 4000-level) credits
- Completion of a Graduation Application form
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0
