This Post-MLIS Certificate is for librarians and information professionals who have earned a Master of Library and Information Science degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA). This certificate is designed for those who want to:

• develop and advance their current knowledge and skills
• acquire new knowledge in special areas and services
• learn the impact and potential of new technologies on library and information services
• assume greater managerial responsibilities in the information field

The Post-MLIS Certificate requires 15 semester credits (five courses) beyond the MLIS degree. Students seeking a Post-MLIS Certificate must apply for admission following the same procedures for master’s degree students. In consultation with faculty advisors, students may design customized programs of study to meet their career objectives.
