Nursing: Nurse Educator - MSN

Program Description

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): Nurse Educator option at St. Catherine University combines a commitment to nursing excellence with a passion for innovation and transformational leadership.  Students build on personal motivations in a rich learning experience that is grounded in St. Catherine’s traditions of clinical and educational excellence, leadership, social justice, and community-based learning.

The MSN: Nurse Educator option prepares students to assume the advanced nursing role of nurse educator in a wide spectrum of healthcare and educational settings. Well-prepared nurse educators are in high demand, regionally and nationally. Evidence-based courses focus on principles of the educational process; assessment of learning styles, characteristics, and needs of diverse learners; and innovative instructional techniques and evaluation strategies.

The plan of study includes opportunities for students to design dynamic learning experiences that are flexible and relevant in a challenging and changing environment. Students receive a Master of Science in Nursing degree (MSN). Our nurse educator graduates are prepared to lead and influence, embrace emerging trends in nursing, nursing education, and healthcare, and practice in diverse educational environments. All graduates are eligible to sit for the Certified Nurse Educator Certification (CNETM) and/or the Nursing Professional Development Certification (NCP-BC™) certification exams.
