Graduation and Commencement
Although the words are often interchanged, "graduation" and "commencement" have different meanings. Graduation occurs when a student has fulfilled all degree requirements. Commencement is a ceremony held to celebrate the achievements of St. Catherine University students. Participation in commencement does not necessarily mean that a student has graduated.
St. Catherine University holds commencement exercises in May. Students who apply to graduate and meet all eligibility requirements are invited to participate in commencement.
Commencement dates are published in the University's academic calendars. Details about the day of commencement are posted on the University's Commencement website approximately two months prior to commencement.
