Health Sciences
Health Science degrees provide students with entry level credentials the opportunity to work in a variety of healthcare settings. Emphasis of the programs is placed on developing skills in interprofessional collaboration, cultural fluency, ecological approaches to health, leadership, and patient care. The Health Sciences degrees position graduates for advancement in healthcare roles and opportunities to seek further healthcare-related education.

Interprofessional Collaboration
- Identify the full scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities of professionals from health and other fields.
- Facilitate team coordination to achieve improved health outcomes.
Cultural Fluency
- Apply self-awareness and self-regulation to manage the influence of personal biases and values in working with diverse clients and constituencies.
- Demonstrate cultural humility in respecting individual and/or community values and priorities/preferences for care in decision-making and planning.
Ecological Approaches to Health
- Recognize the dynamic nature of the relationship between people/communities and their environment and the impact on health and well-being.
- Summarize health within a variety of contexts at the individual, group, and/or population level.
Leadership
- Identify leadership practices that support collaborative practice and team effectiveness.
- Describe the value of including multiple perspectives in decision-making processes.
Patient Care
- Apply an evidence-based approach in the delivery of healthcare to individuals, families, or communities.
- Incorporate knowledge of leadership principles to the care of clients/patients.
