Liberal Studies - BA

Among private colleges and universities in Minnesota, St. Kate’s is a pioneer in offering adult students access to college degrees. For over four decades, St. Kate’s has had an academic division dedicated to serving adult students. The Liberal Studies BA program is designed to carry on that tradition. Liberal Studies draws on the institutional values of academic excellence, community, and integrity by working to empower students who would benefit from earning a bachelor's degree.

Curriculum

A Liberal Studies BA consists of 30 credits. Students must complete at least 15 credits from the School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences programs (see the list below). The remaining credits may be from SHAS programs or any other CFA programs at the institution. Additionally, at least 15 credits of the 30-credit major must be from upper division courses (3000 or 4000 level).

These major requirements will help students achieve the University BA degree requirements of earning a minimum of 120 credits (including a minimum of 36 upper-division credits).
