RN-MSN: Nurse Educator
St. Catherine University’s Nurse Educator option is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge
to lead and influence as a Master’s prepared nurse. Graduates can pursue roles in higher education,
clinical education, corporate learning, government, nonprofits, and other organizations emphasizing
innovative learning.
Grounded in St. Catherine's values of educational excellence, social justice, and community engagement,
our comprehensive curriculum harnesses nursing expertise, innovation, and leadership to prepare the
learner in adult learning theories, instructional design models and frameworks, educational process
standards, evidence-based practice and research, instructional techniques and technology, assessment
development and evaluation, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards, leadership skills, program/project
management and process improvement and data-driven decision making. Graduates of this program will
be skilled in creating engaging, inclusive, and effective learning experiences for various settings and
learners.
Certification Opportunities: Graduates can pursue the National League for Nursing (NLN) Nurse
Educator Certification (CNE) and/or Nursing Professional Development Certification (NCP-BC) exams.
