It is our goal to ensure all students are provided the opportunity to participate fully in the residential experience at St. Catherine University. Students requesting residence hall or dining accommodations for a specific medical condition or disability will work with the Office for Student Accessibility & Accommodations. Documentation is required for medical accommodations including meal plan accommodations and emotional support animals.

To ensure that student rooms, suites, and apartments meet the needs of students with disabilities, we encourage students to work with the Office for Student Accessibility & Accommodations immediately after submitting this Agreement. This will allow staff to review and plan for the accommodation, which may take 30-60 days to process. Please visit the Office for Student Accessibility and Accommodations website for more information and to access the necessary forms: https://www.stkate.edu/life/student-assistance/accessibility-accommodations

The student's current health care provider must complete and submit the medical accommodation form. Health care provider recommendations will be reviewed, and housing and dining accommodation decisions made based on medical condition. To ensure the best access to spaces, current students should complete the medical accommodation process by March 1, 2024 for fall semester housing and January 1, 2025 for spring semester housing. New students should complete the process by June 15, 2024 for fall semester housing and January 1, 2025 for spring semester housing. After these deadlines the best-fit, available accommodation will be assigned.

Meal Plans Accommodations

The meal plan accommodation process is intended for students who have medical or food allergy needs that are diagnosed and documented by a licensed medical provider. Modifications for food preferences are not considered an accommodation need.

Recognizing that a student’s medical needs may change during the term, students can apply for an accommodation, or seek a modification of their previously approved meal plan accommodation, by working with the Office for Student Accessibility & Accommodations. After November 15, new accommodations, or modifications to an existing meal plan accommodation, cannot be applied to the fall semester. The new accommodation will apply to spring semester. After April 15, new accommodations, or modifications to an existing meal plan accommodation, cannot be applied to the spring semester. The new accommodation will apply to fall semester.

In some instances, students may be assigned to a lower meal plan as part of their accommodation. Students with meal plan accommodations are not eligible for refunds or credits for unused points at the end of the semester.
